Hey guys,
I've got a very low post count on this account, and I'm back again for another VSS issue.
We have a client server out in the wild using Arcserve Backup Manager for bare metal server backups. Recently, it's been getting to about 60%, then causing a system reboot. None of us have witnessed the event in person, but I can only imagine it's a BSOD and a reboot.
The reason I suspect it's a VSS issue (and not an Arcserve issue) is because we tested using Windows Server Backup as well, and we get the same result - this is based on Arcserve's suggestion. As soon as we suspend the schedule, the server never randomly reboots.
The only thing I can find in the event logs so far is:
Event 41: The system has rebooted without cleanly shutting down first. This error could be caused if the system stopped responding, crashed, or lost power unexpectedly.
Every time I've run "vssadmin list writers", I get no errors.
Has anyone experienced similar behavior, or perhaps have any suggestions?
