Hi

I am working on a recovery plan for Server 2008 R2 as the PDC,

The clients current config is server 2008 R2, and when I try restore the backup to either different hardware, or Hyper V (host Server 2012) it produces BSOD,

I have tried the items listed from the following articles, however they are not working

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2000048

With the MS article I am unable to copy the following document as mentioned (copy c:\Windows\System32\DriverStore\FileRepository\wstorflt.inf_2f8e5cd8\storflt.sys c:\Windows\System32\drivers)

And I also tried the following,

  1. Create a virtual machine in Hyper-V and attach the Windows Server Backup VHD file
  2. Boot the Hyper-V machine to WinPE
  3. Launch Regedit
  4. Highlight HKLM and click Load Hive
  5. Depending on the configuration of the system partition, navigate to C:\Windows\System32\config or D:\Windows\System32\config and load the SYSTEM hive
  6. Follow the registry changes listed below
  7. Highlight HKLM and click Unload Hive
  8. Reboot and wait a minute or two

Registry Changes

HKLM/System/CurrentControlSet001/Services/<item below> and then then modify the "Start" value according to the numbers listed below:

Aliide = 3
Amdide =3
Atapi = 0
Cmdide = 3
iaStorV = 3
intelide = 0
msahci = 3
pciide = 3
viaide = 3

I would appreciate any help I can get, as I have tried restoring to 2 different types of servers and 2 different hyper V servers with no luck at all.

Regards
