Environment overview: Server 2012 R2 with Hyper-V - 3 x Gen 2 VM's with 'fixed' hard vhdx files (originally dynamic but I worried that was the issue and converted them). I have D:\ drive with some files to backup as well.
I've tried VSS Full Backup and VSS Copy Backup settings - I've tried the 'Configure Performance Settings...' options of tracking files before a backup.
This error event ID 24 keeps appearing in my backup logs. When the nightly backup task runs it shows only the D:\ drive as being collected incrementally - the rest revert to a full backup.
Is this 'normal'? Are my backups accumulating or do I only have one day worth of backups? A little bit of advise on this one would be useful.
If this is normal behaviour can someone explain why it is happening and perhaps a way to verify that everything is OK? I have a weekly e-mail that shows me the output - it does say it is successful in the end - though that doesn't explain why the C:\ drive is running a full backup.
